This is the Part 2 of a series of Mini-books on "The Resurrection." If you desire to know the Truth concerning the resurrection of the dead, it would help you to understand all that was in Part 1. Then continue to get all the remaining parts of this series of Mini-books.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 3:10,11, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death...If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead."
God has chosen for you to attain unto the resurrection of the dead also. There are certain things that you must do to attain unto the resurrection of the dead. God has already told us in His written Word what we need to do to attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Now it is up to us to find out what God told us to do and do it.
The knowledge of the resurrection of the dead is revealed throughout the Scriptures. The Scriptures were written for us to know the truth and live by the Truth that is revealed in the Scriptures. If we do not study the Scriptures, and search the Scriptures ourselves, we could easily be deceived.
Eve was deceived in Genesis 3:1-6, by the serpent who spoke words to her that he did not receive from God. If we go only by words spoken to us by someone else and do not receive our information from God Himself, we could also be easily deceived. It is not a matter of what others tell us that counts. It is what we believe according to "the inspired written Word of God," not that which was changed by men, saying it was God. In 2 Peter 1:21 it says, "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." The "inspired written Word of God" was not written by men according to their understanding. It was not written according to man's wisdom or man's knowledge.
The Word of God is true prophecy. It was first inspired by God and then written by men. If, what is written in the Bibles we use did not first come by the inspiration of God it is not truly the Word of God. What men have changed by their reasoning and miss translation is not from God. It is actually a lie.
Jesus, in quoting the Scriptures said in John 6:45, "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me." In 1 John 2:27 it says, "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." If we believe what Jesus said, then we should be taught by God ourselves, and not by men. If we do not believe what Jesus said, then there is no hope for us and we will easily be deceived. If we do not believe what the Epistles tell us, there is no hope for us.
Jesus said, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23). All things includes everything. You can believe your way "into heaven." You can also believe your way "into hell." It all depends upon what you believe. To believe your way into heaven, you need to understand what Jesus was saying in Matthew 16:24-26. It says, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me...For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it...For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
In Luke 14:27, Jesus said, "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." In this verse the word "cannot," is actually two words joined together. This actually means, "have no other choice." "It is not possible." "Cannot," is a positive statement with no possibility of changing it. In Titus 1:2, we have another use of the word "cannot." It says, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began."
If God cannot lie, and Jesus is God with the Father, then Jesus cannot lie. If Jesus was telling the truth in Luke 14:27, then Christians should take another look at what it says. Jesus said, "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." Remember, Jesus said in Matthew 16:24 "...If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." In Luke 9:23, it says, "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."
Therefore, what Jesus said to His disciples, He said to everyone. This means, only those who deny themselves can follow Jesus.
Following Jesus, means entering into eternity with Jesus and the Father. This is what Jesus was talking to Peter about in John 21:18,19. Jesus said to Peter, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not...This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me."
When Jesus spoke these words to Peter, Jesus was already in His physical resurrected body. Jesus had already lived on this earth in a physical body made of earthly flesh and bones. All the years of Jesus' life here on earth, He never did His own will of the flesh. Jesus only did the will of God the Father. Even on Jesus last day in His human body, Jesus still refused to do His own will of the flesh.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus fought His last battle against the Devil (as Satan was attacking His mind). Three times Jesus prayed to the Father concerning the will of God in His life here on earth. Jesus was determined to do the will of the Father, and not His own will of the flesh. The battle in Jesus' mind was so great that in Luke 22:44 it says, "And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." Even then, Jesus was determined to do the will of His Father "even unto death on the Cross of Calvary." Jesus knew the battle He needed to fight. It was a battle of faith in the Word of God, beyond all natural circumstances.
Jesus endured the Cross, and on the third day He was raised again from the dead. First Jesus had to deny Himself. Then Jesus had to do the will of His Father, and not His own will of the flesh.
Then in John 21:18,19, Jesus said to Peter, "Follow me." No one can follow Jesus in His death, until they first deny themselves and take up their Cross. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus determined to do the will of God the Father, and not His own will. This was the evening of the day the Jesus was Crucified (that evening was the beginning of the day). That same day, Jesus carried His own Cross until He could no longer carry it Himself. In John 19:17 it says, "And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha." In Luke 23:26 it says, "And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus."
What Jesus did Himself, He told Peter that he must do the same. Peter must deny himself, in order to follow Jesus. Many teachings today do not include "self-denial."
We need to also consider the angels in heaven. Angels never do their own will. They only do the will of God the Father. If an angel would decide to do their own will, they would be cast out of heaven, just like Lucifer and the angels that followed him.
In heaven, everyone does the will of God the Father, including Jesus. Jesus never did anything other than the will of God the Father (John 5:30). When Christians want to do their own will, they could be eliminating themselves from eternity in heaven.
God already told us in Isaiah 55:8,9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD...For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Anytime a Christian thinks they can do better than God, they are hearing from a wrong voice. Jesus said in John 10:27, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
Christians need to do what it says in Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." This must be a daily operation in our lives. This is not just for when we are under attack by the enemy. It is also for when things are going well in our lives.
When Christians are hearing the voice of the LORD daily, twenty-four hours a day, and following the LORD twenty-four hours a day, they will be on the strait and narrow way that leads to life everlasting (Matt. 7:13,14). Christians must stay on the strait and narrow way, and never look to the right or the left. Keep your eyes upon Jesus. Keep your ears tuned into the voice of the LORD.
Once you know the voice of the LORD (from spending time searching the Scriptures from the Gospel of Matthew through the Gospel of John), then go to 1 John 1:6,7, where it says, "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth...But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
Those who have been cleansed from all sin, will know the voice of the LORD, and will not follow another voice.
You must get to know the voice of Jesus so well that you will not follow another voice. Then "walk in the Light as He is in the Light and the Blood of Jesus will cleanse you from all sin."
Why is the resurrection of the dead necessary? Why do we need to die first before we can enter into eternity with God?
If Christians will spend time with the Holy Spirit and let Him teach them spiritual things they will know why? The Holy Spirit does not teach us everything all at once. It takes years of fellowship with the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues and studying the inspired written Word of God) to receive wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of spiritual things.
What makes it take so long has a lot to do with what we have been taught by men who say they are sent by God to teach. Much of what we have learned over the years by the teachings of men needs to be gotten rid of. It will only make it more difficult to know the truth, when the Holy Spirit wants to teach us the truth.
In my early years I belonged to a Church that actually taught that "speaking in tongues was not for today." Did you know that was a lie of the Devil. Did you know that the Devil uses those who say they are in the ministry to teach his lies? If we believe the lies of the Devil, we will not be any different than Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. They believed a lie of the Devil, and sin and death entered into them.
Even though the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, Adam and Eve were still driven from the garden of Eden and could not enter back into the garden (Gen. 3:24). God told us in Revelation 13:8 that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. That means the price for sin was already paid for before Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Adam and Eve did not truly repent when the LORD spoke to them. Without repentance there is no forgiveness.
Did God change His plans from before the foundation of this world? God cannot change. God cannot lie. If we believe a lie and do not repent, what will happen to us?
Before I could receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I had to stop believing the lie I had been taught for many years. This applies to every area of our lives. If we continue to believe the lies we have been taught by those who claim to be in the ministry, we could also be kept from eating of the Tree of Life. We could also end up like the Children of Israel, who were promised they could inherit the land of Canaan. The promise was truth. But, they did not mix faith with the promise. There is more to the promises of God than what God said He will do. They include what God told us we must do.
Adam and Eve did not do what the LORD told them to do. By that, they believed a lie. We must stop believing the lies of the Devil that some in the ministry have told us.
It took many years of spending time alone, in the written Word, and prayer to understand what I now know. Yet, it would have been simple, had I not listened to so many teachings that do not agree with the inspired written Word of God. What men teach that does not agree with the inspired written Word of God did not come from the Holy Spirit. Do not believe anything that does not come from the Holy Spirit.
Many today are believing lies that the Devil uses men to teach. One of the lies that many are believing today is taken from John 10:10. In John 10:10 Jesus said, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
If you ask many preachers today, who was Jesus talking about in John 10:10, when He said "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy," they will tell you it is "the Devil." That is a lie from the Devil himself. Jesus did not say the thief was the Devil. Jesus was not talking about the Devil in John 10:10. Those who are teaching that are walking after the flesh. Those who walk after the flesh cannot please God (Rom. 8:5-8). Those who are walking after the flesh did not receive their information from the Holy Spirit.
If Christians will do what Jesus told them to do and "be taught by God" (John 6:45), they would know who Jesus was speaking of in John 10:10.
Jesus said in John 10:1, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." That is who Jesus said the thief and robber is. Jesus did not say the Devil is the thief and robber. In John 10:7.8. it says, "Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep...All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them."
Jesus did not stop identifying the thief and robber in John 10:10, but continued in John 10:12,13, saying, "But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep...The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep." A hireling is one who works for money. This should help many Christians to know who the two thieves and robbers are that Jesus was speaking of.
Jesus said the ones who came before Him were "...thieves and robbers..." Who came before Jesus came? The Priests, the Levites, the Pharisees, Scribes and Sadducees. The LORD had chosen the Levites to serve Him in the ministry at the time of Moses.
The Levites, who were the ones called by the LORD were so corrupt in what they were doing at the time that they even came against Jesus Christ Himself. They falsely accused Jesus of doing what they were sent to do, and did not do. They did not keep the commandments they were given. They did not do what they were sent to do.
When God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world, God anointed Jesus to do the work of the ministry. In Luke 4:18,19, Jesus read from the Book of Isaiah, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised...To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
Those who came before Jesus came "were not doing" what the LORD called them to do. They were doing all sorts of things which they should not have been doing. They were "the thieves and robbers that came to steal, kill, and destroy" that Jesus was speaking of. Jesus was not talking about the Devil in John 10:10, He was talking about those in the ministry who were not doing what they were called to do.
It is still the same way today. Many in the ministry are stealing and robbing from their own members, saying they have a right to take from their members whatsoever they desire. They use all sorts of Scripture verses to claim their rights to what they are doing.
Ask yourself, are they denying themselves to follow Jesus? Are they following Jesus, or another voice? Are they healing the sick or are they sending them to the doctors? How many people did Jesus send to a doctor to get them healed?
Jesus said in Matthew 7:15,16, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves...Ye shall know them by their fruits..."
The Devil is happy when Christians blame him for what they are doing. He doesn't mind at all when he gets blamed for what others do. The main thing he doesn't want Christians to know is who he is using to do his dirty work.
Look at the Gospel of John from Chapter Four all the way to Chapter Ten, and see how that while Jesus was doing the will of God the Father the Priests and the Pharisees and Sadducees kept coming against Jesus. When Jesus healed on the Sabbath day, they came against Him.
If we listen to the Holy Spirit, He will teach us the truth concerning who the thief is today. You will know them by their fruits?
What is sad about this is that the same ones who point their fingers at the Devil are the same ones the Devil uses to steal, kill, and destroy. But worse than that is, they are telling Christians a lie when they say it is the Devil that comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
It was a lie that the serpent used to get Eve to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. What will happen to those in the ministry today who keep telling Christians lies?
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to teach us all things. The Holy Spirit never teaches anything that does not agree with the inspired written Word of God and the Blood of Jesus (1 John 5:8).
God is not interested in His Children doing their own will. God was never interested in anyone doing their own will. If you want to spend eternity with God, you will need to learn to "deny yourself" and let God do His will in your life. Until you do that, you will struggle with every conceivable situation in your life that the Devil can come up with.
Self denial is one of the keys to walking with God. Let God be GOD in your life and forget about trying to do your own will.
Out of all the spirits that the Devil has working for him, lying spirits are some of the most often used. When Adam and Eve were in the garden of Eden, the Devil used a lying spirit to deceive Eve. Lying spirits come against the Truth. A lie is the opposite of the truth. Satan is the opposite of the LORD who is the Truth.
Lying spirits operate wherever they are permitted to operate. If Christians permit lying spirits to operate in the Churches, they will operate freely. Lying spirits will change the Word of God, and make it of none effect among Christians.
The serpent lied to Eve, and by that Eve believed the lie and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve talked to Adam, and he did eat also.
When Jesus prayed to the Father in John 17:17, He said to the Father, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." The only way to be free of lying spirits is to walk in the Truth. Only the Truth can set a person free of the lying spirits that manifest in the world today.
What Christians need to understand is that "...all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Rev. 21:8). Being born again is not eternal security, it is an opportunity to repent and be saved from the wrath to come upon all that continue to do those things that God hates. God hates liars, along with many other things that are works of the Devil.
Repentance and forgiveness of sins is the only hope that Christians have. Grace is here so that Christians can repent and be delivered from the works of the Devil.
The Blood of Jesus was shed for the remission of sins (for those who repent). Those who continue in sin are in danger of eternal death in the lake of fire.
Some of the last words that Jesus spoke before He was taken up to be with the Father are recorded in Luke 24:46-53. In Luke 24:47, Jesus said, "...that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Jesus did not say there would be forgiveness of sins without repentance. In 1 John 3:8 it says, "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning..." The correct translation of this is, "He that continues in sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sinned from the beginning..." Everyone sins, and if they say they do not sin they are a liar. In 1 John 1:8,10 it says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us...If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
We cannot continue in sin and still inherit eternal life in heaven. But repentance and forgiveness of sins will give us eternal life in heaven. In 1 John 1:6,7 it says, "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth...But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
The only way a Christian can inherit eternal life in heaven is to walk in the Light of the Word of God (empowered by the Holy Spirit and washed by the Blood of Jesus Christ). Of our own power we cannot walk in the Light of the Word of God. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit can we walk in the Light of the Word of God (1 Cor. 12:3).
The Holy Spirit has power over the works of the Devil. This power is only available to Christians through the Blood of the everlasting covenant (which is the New Covenant). Outside of the New Covenant that we have (sealed by the Blood of Jesus Christ) there is no forgiveness of sins.
Only God can forgive sins. All sin is against God, not against people. Sin is a work of Satan, the Devil. Christians cannot serve the Devil and God at the same time. They must choose one, either God or the Devil. There is no other choice given to people living on this earth.
Anyone who tells you that you can continue living in sin and still enter into heaven is a liar. God did not remove sin from Christians by the Blood. God made a way for Christians to be forgiven from sins and inherit eternal life through the Blood of Jesus Christ. Only through the Blood of Jesus Christ can Christians receive forgiveness.
Without repentance there is no forgiveness. Without the help of the Holy Spirit there is no repentance. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of repentance. Therefore, if Christians trample the Blood of Jesus under their feet it will be impossible for them to repent. In Hebrews 6:4-6, says, "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost...And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come...If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."
Those who have permitted lying spirits to operate in their lives and do not repent may find themselves cast into the lake of fire. Do not think that because you have "...prophesied in Jesus' name? and in Jesus' name have cast out devils and have done many wonderful works..." that you will walk in heaven when you leave this earth. Jesus said in Matthew 7:22,23, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?...And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Eternity is a long time to spend in the wrong place. Lying spirits will cause many to lose their position in heaven, if they do not repent. It was a lying spirit that brought sin into this world, and it is lying spirits that will cause many to spend eternity in hell.
Lying spirits change the Word of God, to say something that God did not say. That is what the serpent did in Genesis 3:4,5. That is what lying spirits have been doing ever since that day.
Those who change the Word of God and say it does not mean what God said are guilty of sin. Sin leads to death. Death leads to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire.
Never change what God said to make it say something other than what God said. That is a work of the Devil, and the works of the Devil will cause many to spend eternity in the lake of fire.
Over the years, the Devil has used many to change the written Word of God to make it say something God did not say. This is a work of lying spirits using people to do the works of the Devil. Do not be a part of what the Devil is doing by changing the written Word of God. Never add anything to the written Word of God and never take anything away from the written Word of God.
God lives by His Word. Anyone who tries to change the written Word of God is guilty of sin and can have their names taken out of the Book of life. The final warning to Christians is written in Revelation 22:18,19, saying, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book...And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Take heed to the warning given to us in the written Word of God and do not change anything that the Holy Spirit inspired to be written.
God's Word is truth, and truth will overcome any lies of the Devil. Truth will set us free, but listening to lies and following liars could cause us to lose our position in heaven for all eternity.
