Introduction

This is a continuation of other parts of this series. Some of the information in this part will be a repeat of what was already in other parts. Yet, there is some information added to what was in the other parts. Therefore it would be helpful to read all that is in the other parts first for a better understanding of this subject of "Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding."

In Proverbs 2:6 it says, "For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." The LORD is God with the Father and the Holy Spirit. God has "all" wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

To obtain unto eternal life in heaven, Christians must have wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. To get this wisdom, knowledge, and understanding it must come from the LORD.

The Devil does not have true wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Wisdom was given to Lucifer, but he corrupted it and sealed it up and sinned against God. Satan's heart was lifted up because of his position that God had given him.

Because of Lucifer's anointing, beauty, and position he exalted himself to be like God. This is a warning for those who have an anointing from God to serve God by the ability given to them. Never use the anointing for your own benefit. Using the anointing to promote yourself could result in the same eternal end as that of Lucifer.

The anointing is to be used for serving the LORD, not for our own glory. If anyone uses the glory that belongs to God for their own purpose, it could lead them to eternity in hell, along with Satan and his followers.

Do not corrupt the anointing. Do not use the anointing for personal gain. The anointing does not belong to the one who is anointed with the true anointing. The anointing is "the ability to do the will of God," and is not for any other purpose.

The world today, is operating by "the knowledge of good and evil" (Gen. 2:9,17; 3:6,17). This knowledge of good and evil is corrupted by the Devil. Therefore, the knowledge of good and evil that the world lives by will only lead us into two deaths (physical death of the physical body, and eternal death in hell with Satan and his followers).

We must do what the New Covenant tells us to do. We must be "born again" of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:23; John 3:6,7). Then we must "walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh" (Rom. 8:1-7) We must "sow to the spirit and not to the flesh" (Gal. 6:7,8).

The flesh of mankind is still mortal, and the souls of mankind are still corrupted. Therefore, we must "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding...In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Prov. 3:5,6).

By the knowledge of good and evil, mankind's physical body became mortal and his soul became corrupted (Gen. 3:6). This morality and corruption will remain with us until we leave this world for the last time (1 Cor. 15:51-55).

For those who obey the LORD, and live according to the Word of God, when they leave this earth their mortal bodies will become immortal, the corruption in their souls will put on incorruption. Then they will be forever with the LORD.

Until that day, Christians must obey the LORD, and do the will of God here on earth. This can only be done by a full commitment to "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength" (Mark 12:30). Then, "love thy neighbour as thyself" (Mark 12:31). These are our commandments given to us by the LORD Himself. If we keep these commandments, we will inherit eternal life with the LORD forever.

Get Wisdom, Knowledge,

& Understanding

Part Four

Christians need to understand that God gives to those who obey Him every good thing they have. Whether it is wisdom, knowledge, or understanding, God gives every one of us life and breath (Gen. 2:7, Job 12:10, 33:4). In James 1:17, it says, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." God has many good and perfect gifts for Christians. God is love, and God loves His children.

In the beginning, all good things came from God. In Genesis 1:31 it says, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good..." God did not create corruption. Lucifer, now called Satan the Devil, corrupted that which God gave him. Satan tries to corrupt and destroy all that we have.

Get Wisdom

Part 3

In Proverbs 16:16, it says, "How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!" In Proverbs 4:7 it says, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."

True wisdom comes when Christians obey the LORD, and do the will of God here on earth. Therefore, wisdom is submission to the LORD and the leading of the Holy Spirit in every area of our lives.

There are ways in which God teaches us, and gives us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Starting in the beginning, God was giving "wisdom" to mankind.

In Genesis 2:17 the LORD God gave wisdom to Adam and Eve. The LORD God told Adam and Eve, "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" {surely die: "muwth muwth" two deaths in the Hebrew} (Gen. 2:17).

Had Adam and Eve obeyed the LORD God, they would not have sinned, and permitted Satan to bring upon mankind two deaths. The first death that Adam and Eve experienced was physical death of their physical bodies.

Adam lived 930 years, and he died physically (Gen. 5:5). The second death of Adam would not come until after the first death, which is eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. We are not told if Adam did or will experience the second death or not. There are only a few in the Scriptures that we know experienced the second death. One of them is Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus and went and hanged himself. The Scriptures reveal that Judas became "the son of perdition" (Perdition means, ruin or destruction; a follower of Satan).

Satan will be cast in the lake of fire and spend eternity in hell. All those whose names are not written in the Book of Life will also be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20:15).

God gives us wisdom, but if we refuse to obey the LORD, we can lose all that God had provided for us. Proverbs 4:7 says, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." It seems that Adam and Eve were given wisdom in Genesis 2:16,17, but they evidently did not get understanding.

Therefore, it is very important that Christians get wisdom, and understanding. Wisdom without understanding does not benefit us very much.

The principle thing about wisdom is to "obey the LORD, even without understanding." Proverbs 3:5,6 says, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding...In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

God gave the Children of Israel wisdom, when the LORD brought them out of Egypt into the wilderness. While in Egypt the LORD brought ten plagues upon the Egyptians. The last six plagues did not come upon the Children of Israel (Ex. 8:22). This should have been noticed by them, that God was for them, not against them.

Before they were brought out of Egypt, the last plague was "the Passover." The LORD gave them "wisdom" in the Passover. This was very important, and should be very important even to Christians today.

There were many revelations of "wisdom" given in the instructions for the Passover. We can read them in Exodus, Chapters Twelve and Thirteen. The Passover was a complete revelation of the death and resurrection of Jesus. The Passover was "a type and shadow" of our end of slavery to the Devil, and a preparation for a new beginning.

Our new beginning is not so we can forget our past life in the flesh, and continue to live after the flesh. Our new beginning is a new life in the Spirit. With this new life in the Spirit we need to be taught by God how to live in the Spirit and not go back to living after the flesh.

Many Christians have very little knowledge or understanding of what it means to walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. When a person is born again, they go from the flesh of Adam to the Spirit of Christ. This is a whole new way of living. It is a whole new life, different from the life we had in the flesh.

Satan has people teaching Christians how to forget the past and continue to live in the flesh, which is another gospel, not that one that Jesus and the Apostles taught. This is a counterfeit teaching, corrupted by the Devil.

These are following the snare of the Devil that began in the garden of Eden. The Tree of Life was in the garden. Adam and Eve could have freely eaten the fruit of the Tree of Life. But the serpent was saying to Eve, "there is another way to become like God. Just eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and you will become like God, knowing good and evil."

Today, many are following the example of the serpent, saying there is another way to do the will of God, which is not the way ot "walk after the Spirit," and "be led by the Holy Spirit." Today, many are following the teachings of men, and not walking after the Spirit. They are following another way to do the work of the ministry, not the way the New Testament teaches.

Christians need to get wisdom, and understanding from the types and shadows given us when God delivered the Children of Israel out of bondage from Pharaoh and the Egyptian slave masters.

Everything the LORD told them to do was a type and shadow of what Jesus did for us that we could become born again in Christ Jesus. All that Jesus suffered before His crucifixion, including His death on the Cross was all for our benefit. It was so that we could become born again in Christ Jesus and become a new creation of mankind, born of the Word and the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ.

The Children of Israel were not born again, when they were baptized unto Moses in the cloud when they crossed the Red Sea. They were saved, but not born again. There is a major difference between being saved and born again. Yet, many think that saved and born again are the same thing.

The deliverance from Egypt was a complete revelation of the love of God, and God's ability to supply all the needs of those who obey the LORD. God went before the Children of Israel in a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. By this God was giving wisdom to the Children of Israel, that He was God and there is none other like Him.

Wisdom comes by knowing God, and knowing the LORD by His love and ability to deliver and save us from everything that Satan tries to bring against us.

At the Red Sea, God demonstrated His ability to deliver us from all the works of the enemy. The LORD God brought the Children of Israel out from under the slavery of the Egyptians, and gave them a new beginning when they crossed the Red Sea on dry ground.

In 1 Corinthians 10:1,2 it says, "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea...And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea." That day, the Children of Israel were saved, and they were "...baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea." They were not "born again," but they were saved and baptized unto Moses. Moses is a type and shadow of Jesus. Moses became their leader. They were to follow Moses, and the instructions they were given through Moses.

In like manner, when Christians are "born again," they are baptized into the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13). By being born again, Christ becomes our leader in everything. We are to follow Christ and obey Christ in everything.

In the wilderness, God went before the Children of Israel in a cloud by day and a flame of fire by night. God provided shade by day and heat by night, in a place where man could not live in the natural, because of the heat of the day and the cold of the night. God did this for forty-years.

In the wilderness God fed the Children of Israel with manna in the morning and quail in the evening. God did this for forty-years. In Deuteronomy 8:3 it says, "And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."

The LORD God was giving the Children of Israel "wisdom," which if they would obey the LORD, God would supply all their needs.

It tells us, "Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no" (Exodus 16:4). Manna was provided to prove the Children of Israel, if they would obey the LORD.

The Children of Israel were told not to take more than they needed for one day except for the day before the Sabbath day. If they gathered too much and left some of it until the morning, it "bred worms and stank" (Exodus 16:20). God is not for wasting that which He provides. This is wisdom for Christians also. God is not for wasting food or anything He supplies.

Jesus taught the same thing to His disciples. After feeding the multitudes, it says in John 6:12, "When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost."

Christians who are wasteful of what God provides are not being led by the Holy Spirit. God gives us wisdom in His Word. Without "wisdom," knowledge will not benefit us very much. Satan will keep Christians in bondage to his demons if they are wasteful of that which God provides. This applies to food, clothing, housing, money and everything that God supplies. Satan will bring Christians into bondage, and the more they have the deeper into bondage they will go.

All throughout the time in the wilderness, God proved His ability to provide everything they had need of. When we get wisdom from God we will know that we can trust the LORD in everything. It is our trusting in the LORD that leads us into eternal life in heaven. When we trust the LORD, then we will obey Him in everything.

God is faithful to do whatsoever He says He will do. Christians need to get wisdom from God, and know beyond all doubt that God will not forsake them, if they obey the LORD.

To obtain eternal life in heaven, we must obey the LORD. In Hebrews 5:8,9 it says, "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered...And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him."

Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. Christians must be willing to suffer in obedience to the LORD.

Suffering does not mean punishment. Suffering means "to experience a sensation or impression; enduring unto the end, to receive the reward promised." As Christians endure in the Word and Prayer, they will receive an impression from the Holy Spirit, such as a word of wisdom, word of knowledge, or an understanding of what God desires for them to do. We will become led by the Holy Spirit while we suffer in obedience to the LORD.

We must understand the types and shadows of the Children of Israel as the LORD brought them out of bondage to Pharaoh and the Egyptian slave masters.

When they crossed the Red Sea, they were saved from their past, but without obedience many did not enter into the promised land. Their salvation was only a new beginning. They were given a new start in life. They were given an opportunity to make a commitment to serve the LORD, and obtain an inheritance which was promised to them already in Abraham.

The promise was made to Abraham because Abraham obeyed the LORD, therefore a covenant was made with Abraham for the land of promise (Genesis, Chapter Fifteen).

In 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 it says, "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea...And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea...And did all eat the same spiritual meat...And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."

This is written for our understanding. For it then says in 1 Corinthians 10:5,6, "But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness...Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted."

Being born again into the Body of Christ does not give us eternal security. It is only a new beginning. It is a new life in the Spirit. A new way of living, not by the way the world lives, which is according to the flesh.

We are born again of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit and given an opportunity to be taught by God, how to "live in the Spirit" and "walk after the Spirit" and not after the flesh.

Many of the Children of Israel would not obey the LORD, and they desired to go back to living the way they lived in Egypt, back into bondage in Egypt. Because they would not obey the LORD, many died in the wilderness and never did enter the promised land.

Christians have been told in 1 John 2:15-17, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him...For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world...And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Christians who still love the world and the things of this world could easily be deceived by the spirits of this world. When the love of God is no longer in them, they have forsaken the way to eternal life in heaven.

Once they turn back to the world and the things of this world, Satan will lead them in his corrupted knowledge of good and evil. This could cause them to forsake the LORD and follow the teachings of men and doctrines of demons.

Those who have been deceived by Satan's corrupted knowledge of good and evil, are trying to do the will of God another way, not the way that Jesus and the Apostles taught. They are following another system, another gospel, another spirit.

When this happens, the way of truth is no longer the way of the Holy Spirit. It is no longer, God that will supply all our needs, it is another way to get our needs supplied. It is Satan's deception, not the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, let them get wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of what it means to become born again in Christ Jesus. Then be taught by God and led by the Holy Spirit.

Christians need to be taught by God, and led by the Holy Spirit. Christians should no longer desire the world or the things of this world.

Christians have been translated from the flesh of Adam to the Spirit of Christ (Rom. 8:9). Now, they need wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the things of God. Christians who love the world and the things of this world could die in this world and not inherit eternal life in heaven.

Why do Christians let "the god of this world blind their minds" that they cannot see the plan of God for their lives? Why do Christians keep looking at the things of this world and desire the things of this world? Are they without wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of spiritual things?

What is more important, the things of the flesh, or the things of the Spirit? What does God need to do to open the eyes of those who are born again? What does God have to do open their ears that they might hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, speaking to them?

God has done all He is going to do. It is up to each one individually. Will they study the Word of God and pray in the Spirit? Will they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit? Will they obey the LORD, and seek the things of the Spirit over the things of the flesh? In Colossians 3:1,2 it says, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God...Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

When Christians put faith in their ability to obtain all they desire by setting up systems and operations to supply their needs, they could be getting into situations like that of the Church at Laodicea.

Jesus said to the Apostle John, "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God...I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot...So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth...Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked...I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see...As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent...Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me...To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne...He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Rev. 3:14-22).

The ways of the Holy Spirit are not the ways of the flesh. Those who use the world's system to do the work of the ministry could be walking after the flesh, and not after the Spirit. To walk after the flesh is not God's plan for Christians. We are born of the Spirit to walk after the Spirit.

Our life in Christ Jesus is not a life in the flesh of Adam. It is a life in the Spirit of Christ, to walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh.

In Galatians 5:16,17 it says, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh...For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." The way we lived before we were born again is contrary to the way we should live after we are born again.

We are no longer in the flesh. Therefore we should no longer walk after the flesh. Galatians 5:25 says, "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

How to Walk in the Spirit

This is just a quick look at how to walk in the Spirit. First, pray in the Spirit eight to sixteen hours a day. While you are praying, read the Scriptures with your mind.

You can pray in the Spirit anytime you want to. Praying in the Spirit has nothing to do with what you do with your mind (1 Cor. 14:14). When you pray in the Spirit, do not disturb others around you or where you go. You do not need to make a lot of noise praying in the Spirit. You can pray very softly, or even pray silently.

When you "read and study the Scriptures," read mostly the New Testament, for the New Testament is written to Christians. The Old Testament is good, and you need to read the Old Testament also. But do not spend a lot of time reading things that are for people who lived in the flesh and walked after the flesh.

Wherever you go and whatever you do, keep praying in the Spirit. If you do these things faithfully for a year or two you will find yourself speaking words that come from your spirit, not your mind. Words will come out of your mouth by the unction of the Holy Spirit, before realize what you are saying.

In your mind "positive" thoughts will come without you thinking about them. They usually will not have anything to do with what you are doing or thinking. These thoughts will be so "positive" that you know they are "wisdom" from God. When you check them out they are accurate and precise.

Keep your body in health, not by following health diets, but live a fasted life. Eat only two small meals a day. Eat only basic foods, stay away from special foods. The Children of Israel lived forty-years on manna and quail. Do not let the world tell you that you need a special diet. God can take care of your body if you will do what He tells you in His Word.

Be careful of those who teach on the end times, the rapture, and the antichrist. Jesus said, "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Do not get too involved with those who want you to support their ministry of reaching the world with their gospel. Jesus said, "...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). This is not translated correctly in the English. It should read "...as you go into all the world preach the gospel to every creature." Acts 1:8 could read, "...starting in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:9).

Start going into all the world in your hometown and continue from there, town to town until you have reached everyone between you and the end of the world.
