Introduction

by Merle E. Koepke

The testimonies in this booklet are from my own life experiences. They are given to help those who want to walk with God, to know how God works in the lives of people. They are not given to draw attention to myself. They are testimonies of what God will do in the lives of Christians when they will believe God and His Word.

God is not a respecter of persons. What He has done in my life He will do for anyone who will believe His Word.

God has a plan for our lives. When we understand how God does things here on earth, we can then follow God's plan for our lives. There are great rewards in heaven for those who do God's will in their lives here on earth.

The testimonies in this mini-book are shortened to save space in this book. See the note on the last page for more information on these testimonies.

WITH GOD

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

&

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

(Matt. 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37)

Do you believe that "with God all things are possible and nothing is impossible"? What does this mean? Let us take a closer look at what it says, from where it is written.

In Luke 1:37 the angel, Gabriel, said to Mary, "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Mary, the mother of Jesus, did the will of God in her life. In Luke 1:26-38, it tells us of the time when the angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her of God's plan for her life. The angel informed Mary of how that she would become the mother of Jesus.

Too often we have not understood this Scripture according to what it actually says. Many times Christians look at this Scripture verse and think it means "For God nothing shall be impossible." Another time in Mark 10:27, Jesus said to His disciples, "...With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." Again, many say, "for God all things are possible!" Yet, they leave out one very important word, the word "with."

Yes, God can do anything He desires to do. There is nothing impossible for God. All things are possible for God. But, what about the words "with God"? The words "with God" mean, "man and God working together." That means, "you and God working together"!

The angel, Gabriel, was saying to Mary, "Mary, if you will come into agreement with God, nothing shall be impossible." Jesus was saying to His disciples; "If you will come into agreement with God, all things shall be possible."

How do we come into agreement with God? John 1:1-2 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God....The same was in the beginning with God."

That would mean that God and His Word are One. You cannot separate God from His Word. Therefore, if you agree with the Word of God you are in agreement with God.

If you agree with God, "nothing shall be impossible." When you and God are working together, "all things are possible."

Jesus said in John 15:7, "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." Therefore, if we abide in the Word of God we are abiding in Jesus. If we abide in Jesus, and His Word abides in us; whatsoever we shall ask (in agreement with the Word of God) shall be done for us.

How do we abide in Jesus? By abiding in His Word. Jesus and His Word are One. Jesus is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" (John 1:6). If we abide in Jesus' Word we are abiding in Jesus. We are also abiding in the Word, the Truth, and the Life.

To understand what the Word of God is trying to tell us we must live according to the Word of God and "it shall be done." Therefore, we must ask in faith and believe in our heart that, "whatsoever we ask, it shall be done."

Faith, means "we do not doubt in our heart, but believe God and His Word," for God and His Word are One. Keep in mind, that "faith without works is dead" (James 2:20,26). Dead faith is "when we are not willing to become a partner with God in the things we do or pray for."

The angel, Gabriel, was speaking "the Word of God" to Mary. The Word of God was already written in Isaiah 7:14, saying, "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Mary believed the Word of God that was spoken to her by the angel. She did not doubt in her heart. For nine months she believed, without doubt, and she bear Jesus, the Son of God, while she was still a virgin (just as the Scriptures had said).

Mary could have been deceived by circumstances, by the ways of this world, based upon natural knowledge. It was up to Mary to agree with the Word of God, or agree with the circumstances and the thoughts that came to her mind. However, Mary received "the Word of God" that was spoken to her.

How often does God send angels to speak to people here on earth? How often do angels appear to people here on earth? If they are truly angels, and not other spirits, they are sent by God.

In 2003, two angels appeared to me in my living room. They stood right by my feet and I thought they were people until they disappeared while I was looking right into their faces.

God does send angels to people here on earth at times. But, that is only done when it is the will of God, not the will of man. Angels do not appear to men or women here on earth unless God sends them.

How often had Mary talked to an angel? How was she to know the truth? When the angel came to Mary, he said to her, "...Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women" (Luke 1:28). It goes on to say, "And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be" (Luke 1:29).

Mary's mind was troubled. Thoughts came that caused her much concern about the appearance of the angel to her. In her mind she questioned the message that said she would have a child while still a virgin.

Thoughts contrary to the Word of God always come. Mark 4:15 tells us, "...when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts." Satan comes immediately to steal the Word of God. We have all experienced Satan coming to steal the Word of God out of our heart when we know the Word of God is true.

But the angel said to Mary, "...thou art highly favored, the Lord is with thee!" How could Mary be highly favored and the LORD be with her? She spent time with God, getting to know His Word. God and His Word are One. The LORD and the Word are One (John 1:1; Rev. 19:13). When she spent time with the Word of God she was spending time with the LORD. Therefore, the LORD was with her.

If we spend much of our time with God in His Word, we also will be highly favored by God. Mary believed the angel "despite all circumstances" for the LORD was with her.

When the angel told Mary these things, Mary still could not understand the message from God in her mind. Therefore, Mary asked the angel, "How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" (Luke 1:34). The Angel said to Mary, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35).

The angel explained to Mary the supernatural power of God to do His will here on earth. Then the angel said to Mary, "For with God nothing shall be impossible" (Luke 1:37). Mary believed the Word of God as the angel had spoken and said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word..." (Luke 1:38).

This is the kind of response the LORD is looking for in the lives of Christians today, "...be it unto me according to thy word..." When we agree with the Word of God, then God can do His will in our lives.

What Christians need to understand about Mary becoming the mother of Jesus is that "if Mary had not agreed with God, she could not have become the mother of Jesus." God must have someone here on earth "who will agree with Him" otherwise, even God cannot do His will here on earth.

We cannot do the will of God without God working in us and through us. Without God it is not possible for us to do His will. Without God, we would die and go to hell. But, with God working in us and through us, we can live and then even go to heaven when we leave this life here on earth. God cannot do anything in our lives without us. And we cannot do the will of God without God.

We should never even think we can do things in this life without God. This is God's creation and to live and have eternal life we must agree with God and His Word in everything we do.

In agreeing with God, we must also overcome the circumstances in our lives. Mary overcame the circumstances in her life by agreeing with the Word of God. You also, can overcome the circumstances in your life by agreeing with the Word of God! When you agree with God (with His Word), nothing shall be impossible! For "with God" (You and God working together), "all things are possible."

We must first start by becoming One with God (born again into the family of God). We do this by receiving "the Word of God," which is Jesus, the Son of God, into our life. Once we become "one with God" we can overcome the circumstances in this life, by "the Word of God" dwelling in us.

In June of 1979 I received Jesus into my life as my LORD and Savior. It was simple, so simple that many people never do it. It is important that everyone does receive Jesus as LORD and Savior of their lives.

God is not a respecter of persons. But God does respect our free will to do whatsoever we desire. If we want to continue in this life "without God," He will let us die and go to hell. He will not stop us from going to hell. John 3:18, says, "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." People end up in hell because they do not believe on Jesus, who is the "only begotten Son of God." It is not the will of God that anyone should go to hell. Therefore, God receives all of those who will believe on Jesus, "The only begotten Son of God."

But, God only receives those who ask Him. We must ask God! We must ask the LORD to become our LORD and Savior.

In June of 1979 I called upon Jesus to take over my life, and be the LORD of my life. I prayed, "LORD, I need You to take over my life, and be my LORD. You take over for me, and I will live for You."

It is important that we do "ask the LORD," to become our LORD and Savior. It must be done with a sincere desire in our heart. Not just speaking words for the sake of saying a prayer. Be honest and truthful with the LORD, and He will receive you into the family of God. You will truly become born again of the Spirit as Jesus said we must, in John 3:6,7, when He said, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit....Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

You can say a prayer similar to the one below, by simply asking Jesus to come into your life and become your LORD and Savior. Just pray from your heart,

LORD Jesus, I know that You are the Son of God. I know that You died on the Cross for me. LORD Jesus, I ask You to come into my life and become my LORD and Savior. LORD, I will serve You all the days of my life. Thank You Jesus, for receiving me, and giving me eternal life in You. Amen.

THIS NEW LIFE

Being I am now one with God (John 17:20-23), (with the Spirit of Christ in me), the Holy Spirit also, helps me to live this new life according to the Word of God. The Spirit and the Word always agree. It says in 1 John 5:8, "there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." Being led by the Holy Spirit is more exciting, more fulfilling, more joyful, than anything the natural man could ever conceive in his mind.

Let me brag a little on God in a few instances from my past experiences with the LORD. Before I was born again I was a self-righteous religious person. After I was born again I experienced a new life in Christ, a life of peace and joy from within. A desire to study the Bible all over again.

As I read the Gospels in the Bible, the Words of Jesus came alive in me. "That was my LORD and Savior speaking to me from the Bible." His Words were Spirit and life to me. It was like reading a book I had never read before (even though I had read the whole Bible from Genesis through Revelation before I was born again).

There was such a joy in reading the Bible I did not want to stop reading it. I carried a Bible with me to work, to read whenever I could find time.

In all of that, it seemed the only thing I could grasp or understand were the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The other writings of the New Testament still seemed to put me under condemnation, rather then set me free.

Today, following the Baptism in the Holy Spirit I can now understand the Epistles of Paul and the others in the New Testament without being under condemnation. The Holy Spirit became my guide and teacher. The Holy Spirit ministered to me by a witness with the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, that I could be "without condemnation" (Rom. 8:1-7).

Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Walking after the Spirit means "being led by the Holy Spirit from within you." When you are led by the Holy Spirit from within you "there is no condemnation," only the love of God ministering to you, guiding you into all truth. The Holy Spirit does not condemn Christians, but loves them and teaches them the Truth.

After I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the miracles, the healing's of my body, the mighty works of God began manifesting in my life. Before I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the Word of God was very precious to me, but no mighty works of God followed the Word. Jesus said in Mark 16:17,18, "...these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;...They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Jesus said, signs would follow those who believe. None of these signs followed "until after I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues."

Almost immediately after being baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, the signs began to follow the Word of God in my life. I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit on May 7, 1981. A few weeks later I heard the voice of the LORD speaking to me from my inner being. Guiding me, and helping me.

At that time, I was in need of some money to pay some bills. I only had two to three weeks to come up with the money. I needed $3,000 and had only about $500 to $600. From my spirit, the LORD instructed me to give $100 into a ministry in need of help. When I obeyed the LORD, my income increased. Inside of two weeks I had the necessary $3,000 and within two months all my debts were paid and I had money left over.

God moves by His Word and His Spirit in agreement with each other, bearing witness here on earth (1 John 5:8). A month later, I prophesied out of my own mouth the call of God on my life into the ministry. It was as much a surprise to me as it was to others. But the LORD is faithful, and through a series of events, fourteen months following the Baptism in the Holy Spirit I was ordained by the LORD into the ministry.

God is "a supernatural God," not working according to man's human knowledge but by His divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of all things. God knows how and when to do things in an individuals life that will benefit both the individual and the kingdom of God.

Many have wondered, "Why speak in tongues"? Even those who have received the gift of tongues have wondered, "Is it necessary to speak in tongues?" Let me give you some examples of what God can do for you also if you speak in tongues.

Christians need to understand that God cannot have fellowship with sin. But God sent Jesus to take away the sin of the world. To benefit from what Jesus did, we must do what God tells us in His Word. We are told in His Word that we should receive the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, that we can be witnesses unto Jesus wherever we go. This is seen clearly in Acts 1:4,5 and 8.

Before I attended Bible School the power of God manifested in my life. The first time the LORD used me to lay hands upon certain individuals for healing I learned one thing very important. That is, God does not work according to the thoughts in our minds.

I was having video tape teachings and there were about nine others attending. There were two people there that had short arms, one woman and one man. They asked me to pray with them that their arms would come out to the right length.

There was also a Pastor among us, who I felt should do the praying. But they insisted that I pray with them. When I prayed, I knew in my mind (I was 100% positive in my mind) that nothing would happen. You see, I saw in Mark 16:16-18 that you had to believe in order for anything to happen. Being 100% positive in my mind that nothing would happen I prayed in the Spirit, "speaking in tongues," then commanded their arms to come out to the right length "in the name of Jesus." They came out, just as I had commanded them, even when my mind was saying to me "they would not come out if I did the praying."

First I prayed for a woman and her arm came out to the right length. Then, in my mind I thought, maybe it worked for this woman but surely it will not work for the man. So, I prayed for him, again praying in the spirit, "speaking in tongues," then commanding the short arm to come out "in Jesus' name." His arm came out also.

One thing to understand is that God's thoughts and God's ways are much greater than our thoughts and our ways (Isa. 55:8-9). God does not go by the thoughts in our minds. God goes by His Word and the Holy Spirit. God does not tell us we must believe in our mind. The Word of God talks about believing in our heart, not our mind.

We also need to understand the Word of God in Romans 8:26,27, and 1 Corinthians 14:2. In these verses, we can see that when we do not know what to pray or how to pray we can pray "in the Spirit," and the Holy Spirit will work all things out for us.

One day my daughter was in a car accident and was taken to a hospital. They called me to come down to the hospital by her. Then the LORD spoke to me from my spirit to go. Following that, the Holy Spirit worked with me, guiding me, and the LORD healed my daughter that day as I prayed with her. The doctors had told her she would not be able to work for at least two to three weeks. But, the LORD healed her the very same day I prayed. She went back to work the following day as usual. She was totally and completely healed by the power of God, which the doctors could not do.

One day I broke my toe on a concrete block. The same day, immediately following the breaking of my toe the Holy Spirit was there inside of me, guiding me in everything I did and said. He led me to come against the devil in my mind and receive my healing by the Word of God and the confession of my mouth. In three days there was no evidence of my toe ever being broken.

God works by His miraculous, supernatural powers, not by natural means. Many times the LORD healed my body without medication or doctors. God heals supernaturally by His grace through faith.

God, being He is God, and the Father of His Children here on earth, loves His children and cares about every area of our lives. He gives us wisdom to go with our knowledge. We have some knowledge in the natural, but it takes the wisdom of God along with our knowledge to benefit us the most.

One day, as a Television repairman, I was called to the home of a family where the husband and wife were both deaf. They had a television set, a video tape recorder, and a Caption Machine to put the words on the Television for them to read (being they could not hear). They had a problem with the system. When they recorded on the video tape the words would not play back, only the picture. They asked me to come and correct the problem.

After working for a half-hour and not finding the answer I prayed, "LORD, You know what is wrong, help me to find the answer!" Immediately, as I finished praying I knew what was wrong. I made the changes and everything worked just fine. The LORD has supernatural abilities beyond that of the natural man. He knows everything.

One evening I was talking to a woman about fifty miles from my home in a small town in the country. She had a problem with her electric typewriter. It would not run. She asked if I knew any place in the city where I lived that would fix her typewriter while she waited for it? I did not know of any such place, so I said to her, "If you want it fixed by tomorrow, you will have to wait up for me and I will come and fix it for you."

I did not know anything about repairing electric typewriters, but for some reason the words came out of my mouth. Today, I know it was the Holy Spirit prompting me to speak those words, for He wanted me to experience the supernatural power of God to give wisdom and knowledge to those who would ask (James 1:5).

As I traveled to her home I prayed, "LORD, You don't want me to lie, I told her I would fix it for her. LORD, I don't know what is wrong, or what to do. You show me, You know what is wrong and how to fix it. Thank You Jesus for the answer." After getting to her house it only took about twenty minutes to repair her typewriter. It was as if I knew just what parts to remove, how to remove them (just as if I had done it hundreds of times before).

The LORD has supernatural wisdom and knowledge, and will share it with His family here on earth. All we have to do is ask and believe in our heart all that He has taught us in the Bible.

One day I noticed a growth on my first finger on my right hand, just between the last joint and the end of the finger. At first it was sore and bothered me when I used that finger to hold a pencil to write. I started putting a band-Aid on it to protect it.

One day as I was "praying in the Spirit" while driving from one town to another the Spirit of God spoke to me from within my spirit, "Why don't you curse that growth like Jesus cursed the fig tree and tell it to die in Jesus' name?" Immediately I held up my finger and said, "Growth, I command you to die in Jesus' name, dry up and fall off, in Jesus' name!"

Nothing seemed to happen in the natural. Yet I noticed the growth stopped getting larger, but still remained on my finger. I continued to put band-Aids on it to protect it while I worked. About a month later, one day as I removed the band-Aid the lump came off with the band-Aid, leaving no scar or mark where it had been. God works in His time, according to His Word, by supernatural means, not by man's wisdom and knowledge.

There was a time when I had a 1976 Ford Van with about 165,000 miles on it. The LORD helped me keep it running without any major repairs up until that time. One day, while driving on a freeway, the engine started to knock, like as if it had a bad piston rod or bearing. The sound was very loud. Out of my spirit I was prompted to speak, "Engine, in the name of Jesus I command you to stop making that noise. I command that there be no problems, no bad piston rods or bearings, In Jesus's name." A few miles down the road the knocking stopped and the engine ran smoothly. I continued to run that vehicle until it had 197,000 miles on it. Then I bought a small compact car that got up to 34 miles per gallon of gas instead. I gave the Van to a boy's home that year.

Time and time again, the LORD and the Holy Spirit working together in my life have done many things beyond the understanding of man's natural mind or abilities. God is a "supernatural God" doing that which man cannot do without God. Remember, "With God, all things are possible....nothing is impossible."

There was a time when a new born Christian woman came to our house with great needs. She needed a place to stay until she could get a job and her own apartment. We spoke to her about her situation, then prayed with her for the job she wanted.

She did get the job, and the first day on the job (as she left the parking lot to enter into the building to start work), she slipped and fell. She fell with her left hand hitting the pavement. In doing so, she injured her left hand. She had someone put a bandage on her hand and worked all day that way. That evening she came to us and told us what happened.

We sat down at the table and I said to her, "Take off the bandage so we can see what it looks like." She took off the bandage and we could see it was slightly discolored and swelled up. I took my Bible, and said to her, "Let me show you something here in the Bible." I started to show her Scriptures that Jesus already bore our sickness and took upon Himself our infirmities. Then I showed her that it was God's will for all His Children to be well and without any evidence of deformity in their bodies, that included broken bones, blindness, lame, deaf, etc. All of these Jesus bore for us that we could live in good health.

As I continued to show her these Scriptures I glanced at her hand. The swelling was gone, the discoloring was gone, everything looked normal to me. I said to her, "Look at your hand!" She looked with amazement, opened and closed her hand, and shouted, "Thank You Jesus. Thank You Jesus, my hand is healed. Jesus healed my hand!"

We did not say any special prayers, or even mention praying for healing. All I did was show her the Scriptures that speak of Jesus taking upon Himself our sickness and infirmities. The Scripture says in Psalm 107:20, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." When we get into agreement with the Word of God, the Word of God manifests itself in our lives. For God and His Word are One, "With God all things are possible."

I know I have taken up a lot of your time just bragging on God, and some of the things He has done in my life. But it is important to understand that these supernatural manifestations of God's power and ability are to continue daily in the lives of Christians. Therefore, let me brag on the LORD just a little more.

One time there was a young girl helping me put books together. All the work we do is for the kingdom of God here on earth, so we could say, that day we were working together for our LORD Jesus Christ. As she was stapling and folding books I looked over to her and said, "Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues?" She said, "No." I said to her, "Would you like to?" She said, "Yes, I would." I said to her, "Well, let's do it right now, let me pray with you and Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit right here, today."

I know that it is the will of God for everyone of His children to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. For me to make a statement like that to any child of God is without question that God will baptize them with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I know from many Scriptures the sincere desire of God the Father and our LORD Jesus Christ that this is God's will. If we ask anything according to the will of God, He will do it.

Therefore, I said to her, "Let's just raise our hands up to the LORD, so the speaking which will come from your belly can get out freely through your mouth. I will lay my hands upon the palms of your hands and we will pray." I laid my hands upon her hands and we both said a prayer in accordance to Luke 11:13. "Father, I ask You to give me the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Fill me with the Holy Spirit right now!"

Instantly, she started to speak in tongues, that wonderful tongue of God which no man understands, "...howbeit, in the spirit she was speaking to God" (1 Cor. 14:2). Isn't God wonderful in His love that He will give the Holy Spirit to any of His children who will ask? (Luke 11:13).

If you do not have a relationship and fellowship with God similar to what I have, or even better, you can. God is not a respecter of persons. Anyone who will call upon the name of the LORD will be saved. That means, "delivered, protected, and accepted into the family of God as one of His dear children."

Do it today, if you haven't yet, don't wait! God has been waiting for your response to His invitation from the day you were born.

If you are already born again and have not received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, you can receive it now. God is love. He wants you to have the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Say a prayer like the following, believing in your heart on what God has promised you in His Word.

"Jesus, You said in Mark 16:17, that in Your name I can cast out devils.

Satan, in the name of Jesus' I cast you out of my mind. You have no authority over my mind. My mind is clear of all demonic oppression in Jesus' name.

Father, according to Your Word in Luke 11:13, You promised me the Holy Spirit if I ask. Father, I am now asking You to give me the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in Your heavenly language. I receive Him from You now, in Jesus' name."

Continue to pray in your new tongue. As you pray "in the Spirit" you have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. As you study and meditate upon the Word of God you have fellowship with the Father and the Son. Continue therein day and night and you will obtain the perfect walk with God in His Word "led by His Spirit."
